In our Senior classes, our focus is placed on transforming our dancers into well rounded, dedicated performers. The fundamentals of various styles and skills are now established and we work to encourage a strong sense of coordination, musicality, self-expression and artistic ability. Students will be strongly encouraged to experiment with individual style and choreography. A passion for dance is a must at this age and we work to foster that love for years to come.

In jazz class, our Seniors work on advanced versions of the already established jazz technique including turns, kicks and leaps. Strong foundations in flexibility, strength and coordination are built upon and all the physical benefits of jazz start to show. Most of all, jazz is a whole lot of fun, grooving and dancing to some of your favourite songs!

Ballet is our most important and challenging style that requires discipline, strength, balance & grace. Students at TBPA train through the CSTD ballet syllabus which teaches the students through exercises that are designed to encourage a strong sense of posture, alignment, agility and poise. In these classes, our Seniors will start to build and develop the foundations needed to pursue a sustainable dance journey in classical ballet. Due to the demanding nature of classical ballet, students are encouraged to take two classes per week. There are two grades (Intermediate & Advanced) on offer to our Seniors.

Tap is one of the most enjoyable dance styles, where students get to make a lot of noise! Tap is rhythmical, increases coordination of the body and helps to develop a sense of timing and expression. Our Seniors are taught the CSTD tap syllabus. This dynamic syllabus is structured to teach the foundations of tap with an emphasis on modern styles whilst highlighting a strong connection to old school styles as well.

This class is designed to introduce students to the different and sometimes challenging world of modern dance. In this class, we explore different combinations that challenge the core muscles that work to ground dancers in modern dance. We explore complex moves that vary over the different styles of modern dance and also start to introduce improvisation and artistry into the mix.

Musical Theatre offers students the chance to become triple threats! Combining acting, singing and dancing, Musical Theatre encourages confidence, creativity, empathy and teamwork- skills that are perfect for the stage and in life! In these classes, we develop singing technique, learn about self-expression, use dance for storytelling and create Musical Theatre pieces for performances.

Funk dancing is the perfect fusion of styles, incorporating jazz roots into a melting pot of hip hop, break, popping and locking, along with other fashionable dance genres.

Acrobatic classes offer a fun and inspiring way to move. Students start with fundamentals and work their way up to more advanced skills. Students will develop excellent gross motor skills and core strength along with impressive flexibility. All activities are done in a safe and progressive manner with an emphasis on strength and body posturing to ensure each individual is capable of the skills they’re being taught.
